Children and happiness

What makes children happy? Toys? Friends? Uncover the truth in children and happiness.

The Child of Our Time project has been following a group of children since their births at the turn of the new millennium, as their personalities have developed and the world, their family and other relationships are shaping them into the people they will become.

This new ten-part series, The Children's Stories, follows ten of the children and their families through the first five years of the children's lives. Each is an individual, but each child's story tells us something about the influences that affect us all.

Programme One: Parys' story
Programme Two: Rhianna's story
Programme Three: Charlotte's story
Programme Four: Rebecca's story
Programme Five: The triplets' story
Programme Six: Calvin's story
Programme Seven: Megan's story
Programme Eight: Tyrese's story
Programme Nine: Taliesin's story
Programme Ten: James' story

The Children's Stories can be seen with sign language in BBC One's Sign Zone on Friday mornings at around 1.00am
