The idea that it is possible to have a good death is not new. It is not confined to any one time in history nor to any particular groups or societies.
However, ideas about what it means have changed over time and are diverse within and between different groups in society. This questionnaire seeks to explore what ‘a good death’ means to people living in the UK today.
The Open University team will analyse the information you give us and see if there are common features or trends that suggest people of different ages, gender, ethnicity, beliefs etc might share similar ideas about what makes a good death – if you consider that there is any such thing.
You can say as much or as little as you like. The results will be fed back and linked to from this page.
No-one who participates will be indentified in any way, although some quotes will be used as illustrations of the features of a good death. The questionnaire is designed to take no more than 10 minutes of your time – although you can spend as long as you like.
