Has this series gripped your imagination and left you with a dsire to know more? You can follow up on your interest in the science and technology of the Industrial Revolution through a variety of Open University courses, including:

Engineering the Future (T173) examines what is 'engineering'. Introduces the context in which engineers operate, including product safety, patent law, and current engineering practice.

Discovering Science (S103) serves as an introduction to science and covers a range of topics that broadens your understanding of many of the scientific concepts and inventions that came out of the Industrial Revolution.

*Health and Disease (U205) explores the social and biological factors shaping current and historical patterns of disease and health-care worldwide and in the UK, and includes a short case-study on the impact of the Industrial Revolution.

*Cities and Technology: From Babylon to Singapore (AT308) provides a chronological spread over thousands of years, and a geographical spread across Europe, America, Africa, and Asia, with particular attention to the impact of the Industrial Revolution in Britain, Europe and America.

*These are 2nd and 3rd level courses and we would recommend that you first take a course at Level 1 to give you every chance of success in your studies.
