Rachel Horne: Tonight on the Money Programme, are one of the millions of customers who rely on price comparison sites when it comes to deciding how to spend your money? The industry’s booming but we’ve tracked down an anonymous insider who questions the reliability of the information they provide.
Anonymous Insider: It makes sense commercially for a price comparison site to list a better paying provider higher up the list.
Rachel Horne: We speak to the insurance broker who describes how he reduces the level of cover on some policies to make them as cheap as possible.
John Radford: We have to put a strip-down policy to get ourselves to the top, else people won’t even look at you.
Rachel Horne: And our Money Programme guinea pigs get a surprise after logging on.
