This course focuses on the health of individuals, families, localities and societies. It looks at how much people influence their own health, and how much it is influenced by our families, the places we live, and wider society.

An introduction to Health and Social Care
This course provides an up-to-date, authoritative overview of health and social care. Real-life case studies take you deep into the experience of receiving care and working in care services

Care, welfare and community
This course offers you the opportunity to examine the different kinds of care relationships we are involved in, not only within families and between friends and neighbours, but also within the health and social care services.

Exploring ageing
This course will help you understand the philosophies, structures and values that influence the status of older people in the UK and their access to health and social care. It also explores some of the ethical dilemmas, such as rationing and capacity to consent, that are characteristic of everyday nursing practice with older people.

Maximising older people's potiential
This course explores models of health and social care that can be used to develop nursing practice so that older people can continue to lead engaged and fulfilled lives.

Promoting person-centred practice
This course enables nurses to develop the knowledge and skills required to deliver more person-centered ways of working in their care of older people.
